Nucleus Software have the following systems running live for Aplus:- WTO-SP, WTO-CC, WTO-SR, PowerCard-Switch, FinnOne Lending, FinnOne Collections, FinnOne GL, FinnOne CAS, FinnOne BMW, @Connect, @Net, IPS, EERS. As a support lead my key responsibility are:

  • Ensuring the stability of the Production system. Motto being system is Up and running always.
  • Helpdesk query categorization, assignment and tracking.
  • Bug management, categorization, assignment and tracking.
  • Planning recovery and immediate solution during critical incidents.
  • Review and planning for all change implementation request.
  • Client Interaction and offshore coordination.
  • Reporting for internal management and the client.
  • Provide training sessions for team members and carrying out dummy crisis drills.

APLUS Shopping Card

This is a customer acquisition system for Shopping Credit Business line of Aplus. It is the top revenue generator offering for Aplus. The applications are accepted via Fax, Scan and Online channels through dedicated dealers. There are automatic stages and various credit policy rules that are judged in the journey from application request till approval including the CIC check. My key tasks as support analyst were:

  • Migrating regular tasks related to handoff generation from task schedulers to JP1 for better alert and status monitoring during trouble.
  • Managing migration from physical to virtual servers.
  • Supporting team members during critical issue analysis and recovery.
  • Publishing bi-monthly report for transaction volume, approve/reject status, planned release activities schedule and query/helpdesk status for the stake holders.
  • Preparing the release and post-release confirmation plans and having review meetings with user-division, client-IT team and development team.

Aplus Credit Card, Service Request and WTO Common

One of the most prominent offerings from APLUS is the Aplus Credit Card which is also the second highest revenue generator for it. The customer acquisition system for Aplus, WTO-CC is designed by Nucleus. Aplus Service Request is the system that handles service request from customer for Credit card, shopping card, Loan Card and other portfolios. The acquisition systems basically have four auto stages for checking customer phone number, Credit history check -CIC, Anti-Social check and Internal customer check, the WTO common interfaces are used for automatic inquiry. My key tasks as a support engineer for these systems were:

  • Planning and executing monthly maintenance activities.
  • Performance monitoring and tuning support to App team.
  • 24x7 support for any exigencies and recovery planning & execution in case of issues.
  • Collaborating and planning for integrated production releases.
  • SQL trace and query performance evaluation before release to production. Data population and Stats gathering in pre-prod and releasing to production.
  • Planning and carrying out disaster recovery drills for audit.

PowerCard Switch

Aplus Personal Loan is a subsidiary of APLUS which deals in revolving loan business. Nucleus in partnership with HPS(Morocco) have deployed online transaction authorizing system PowerCard-Switch to service ATM transactions for APPL customers. The transaction follows ISO 8583 standard and involves NTT CAFIS and TIS's Tandem server enroute to PowerCard-Switch.

  • Provide L1, L2 level support and coordination with HPS team for L3 level requirements.
  • UAT and Production release planning and support.
  • Designing and implementing Oracle AQ connectivity between PWC and FinnOne Lending.
  • IBM Websphere MQ implementation between PWC and Tandem.
  • Smooth integration between PWC & FinnOne with no transaction loss.
  • Automated routine processes related to log backup, clustering and report generation.

Infra Support and External/Internal File servers

Shinsei Bank is a mid-segment bank with major focus on foreign customers. Shinsei Bank uses solutions from multiple vendors across the globe like: Oracle, Hitachi, TCS, Infosys, Nucleus, FundTech, Polaris, ASJ etc. With such a high network of vendors there was a need of a common server for internal and external data exchanges. Nucleus designed two systems termed as External File Server(EFS) and Internal File Server(IFS) for Shinsei bank to be shared across the vendors. Following were the key tasks:

  • Coordination with multiple vendors to list down all input/output files along with there generation/upload need timings.
  • Designing the file sharing route for all vendors. Setting up JP1 dependencies, folder access control.
  • Creating a house keeping process for all locations.
  • Over 1300 files and over 120 GB of data shared daily through the EFS and IFS.
  • Successfully coordinated with 21 vendors and achieved full success on the roll-out.
  • Zero manual interaction needed. All house keeping process is automated.
  • Writing resource switching scripts for application - clustered servers, Linux.
