Summary

International Relations

Reasons for choosing this major

1. To acquire sensory dialogue skills to read what the other party wants to say and think and to engage in dialogue by using English in negotiations.

2. To express oneself and improve practical communication skills by explaining marketing strategies in front of others.

What we gained: “Sensory dialogue skills, communication skills that do not rely on verbal skills.

1. I gained sensory dialogue skills during the hourly marketing strategy dialogues with the professor. Whenever I had difficulty understanding something during the dialogue, I would paraphrase what the professor would have wanted to say in the flow of the conversation and ask a question back. This enabled me to keep the conversation going naturally, and I was also able to guess what the professor was going to say next, which made the conversation smoother.

2. When he was at a loss for words during his presentation, he used his whole body to explain what he wanted to say. I found that this allowed me to get through without relying on my language skills. During the practice session, I was unable to progress smoothly because I could not put into words what I wanted to say many times, but I understood that there are other ways of expression besides words and that I could say that I had communicated if the other person understood what I had prepared in the end.

Points to consider

1. By summarizing only the important points, we were able to communicate with listeners by improvising and making the discussion lively.

2. Reflection and repeated review after receiving feedback
