My purpose is to use my teaching skills and autodidactic interests to help language and humanities learners pursue their professional and personal development.
Teaching research skills, academic and creative composition, and English reading skills to Japanese and international students. Researching various implementations of AI in education. Heading library committee and leading its writing circle as of 2024.
Taught English Proficiency courses focusing on reading and writing skills with an emphasis on citation and short essays. Taught reading section of TOEIC. Led English Chat sessions during non-class hours with soon-to-be graduates and students wanting to practice conversation skills.
Taught a variety of language courses to teams of public and private company employees, including standardized test preparation, business email correspondence, writing, grammar, and other various courses.
Developed language testing rubric in use at a major Korean bank, participated in the design of app-based learning projects and materials development for HUFS' on-campus publishing house. Wrote GLA program's employee manual and devised a catalog of interview questions for use in language level-testing. Co-founded GLA's book club.
Taught classes at a public elementary school while working with Korean English teachers. Was also responsible for organizing the after-school advanced classes.
Organized lesson plan files and coordinated with co-teachers to design open classes. Also participated in the EBS Gyeonggido television program and oversaw correspondence with sister school in New Zealand.
Taught classes at a private academy for elementary and middle school students in Ansan, South Korea. Was responsible for conducting classes, record keeping, devising lesson plans, preparing for special events and other teaching-related tasks. Was asked to extend contract for two months and extended employment time by twenty days.
Provided transcription service and other legal outsourcing work for law firms, including legal research projects, memos, affidavits, interviews, miscellaneous notes, time logs, as well as a wide variety of legal-related transcriptions.
