● Manage a regional team responsible for providing first-rate technology and commercial solutions for various business units. Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to, exchange liaison, co-location and exchange connectivity management as well as overseeing direct price feeds from exchanges and other trading venues. The team manages all technology aspects of Market Data delivery, from vendor and trading venues connectivity to packaging and deployment of desktop software, as well as the commercial and business management aspects like provisioning, invoice, and contract processing along with vendor management.

● Designed and implemented the regional strategy for direct feed handler integration into RMDS/TREP for resiliency and mass distribution as well as co-location deployments where ultra-low latency is a requirement.

● Regionally responsible for engineering sustainable technology solutions right sized to APAC markets and in some cases globally, in this capacity, track and manage market and vendor driven changes whilst managing capacity and ensuring production systems stability during software deployments and upgrades, both internally and vendor managed.

● Responsible for opening and managing the NY STAC lab, which houses a simulated trading environment where STAC and its customers can test innovative combinations of technologies—or technology “stacks.” The lab includes stacks for many areas of the trading process, including market data distribution, tick databases, complex event processing, messaging, and order execution. Some of the duties include hardware and OS installation, network setup (Ethernet and Infiniband), as well as remote access setup (VPN).

Participate in business development by providing technical and business specific knowledge throughout the various steps in a consultative sales process, including quote creation and Statement Of Work preparation incorporating specific scenarios relevant to the specific workloads.

Responsibilities include reviewing and enhancing a range of Market Data applications/systems and ECNs including Reuters Triarch/RMDS platform, Bloomberg Professional, Reuters 3000Xtra, Brokertec, Cantors eSpeed, CQG, Datastream Advance, Eurex MISS environment, CME, CBOT, LIFFE, Smartsockets, etc.

● Design, proof of concept, capacity planning and implementation of an ultra low latency Market Data platform utilizing WOMBAT as the strategic global partner. The deployment involved elements of multicast based LBM delivery for statistical arbitrage algorithmic trading applications as well as a legacy RMDS implementation for front end GUI applications.

● Designed and deployed a Global DACS permissioning system, allowing the consolidation of the Americas, European and Asian databases into a single one, generated a set of detailed custom reports to facilitate cost savings on a global basis. Global user mobility achieved.

● Global implementation of latency reduction parametric changes on TRIARCH/RMDS distribution systems in order to fine tune it for algorithmic trading, including a custom built latency monitoring and reporting tool.

Managed employees from various telecommunication, hardware, and market data firms. As a result, the projects were completed on time and with no cost overruns.

● Designed, installed and configured Triarch/Tibco/RMDS backbone networks including feeds such as AMS, RDF, Bridge News and Quotes, Inter Dealer Brokers(Eurobrokers, Prebon, Tradition, Tullett & Tokyo, Garban, etc.), as well as the Feed Handlers(TSR, RSF, RDF, ISFS, etc), and the related front-end Servers like Sink Distributors, TIC and RTIC, using Point-to-Point, broadcast and multicast delivery technologies, integrating the system into a user network by configuring the different involved elements (Firewall, DNS, etc).

● Worked as an on-site front-line support, assisting traders by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and improving the market data architecture. Support traders in the use of real-time market data and news services, Triarch, Bloomberg (including Excel APIs), Reuters Plus and 300Xtra, SelectFeed, Bridge. Analyzed and reported on market data usage costs utilizing the DACS reporting utilities generating savings on exchange fees.

● Maintain Fixed Income and Equity Tibco/Triarch backbones, many of which have redundant configurations by the use of Tibrouter and BGS, with sizes ranging from 4 to 90+ servers, as well as troubleshooting Multicast based environments over switched networks where multiple pairs of RV-based TICs were using different multicast groups, this was accomplished by using PIM and IGMP, as a consequence the network infrastructure proved to be cost effective.

● Offered innovative solutions to unique customer demands during high-level pre-sales and sales meetings. Designed and built customized segments of Triarch and Tibco infrastructures for several major Wall St. investment banks, saving each customer thousands of dollars in hardware, software and labor costs.

● Supervised a team of engineers performing a global rollout of 7000 positions of 3000Xtra desktop software for a major investment firm. Designed innovative packaging solutions and install scripts, which resulted in significant cost and time savings.

● Managed a group of engineers performing an enterprise-wide Hawk installation. Developed install scripts to install over fifty Hawk nodes in three days, when the initial estimate called for a month.

● Decreased pending book orders 50%, by strengthening Reuters’ reputation in Mexico through frequent meetings with clients and initiating installs directly from sales all of which resulted in half of the install base being Triarch by May 1999.

● Performed the initial lab testing and subsequent installation and configuration of DACS, ISFS, Kobra, ATW and market data feeds.
