Reliable employee seeking an English teaching position. Offering excellent communication and good judgment. Experienced ALT with over five years of experience in Japanese-English education. Excellent reputation for resolving problems and improving student's English language acquisition. As a 5-year Jet programme ALT, I ended up finding a fierce passion for teaching. Originally wanting to come to Japan due to my love for Japanese culture, English teaching was the only true stepping stone for getting here. Regardless of having no prior experience in teaching and not understanding the essence of the job, I was immersed into the position of an ALT and I ended up falling in love with teaching. Truly it is the best job I have ever had because it allowed me to be creative, instill confidence in students, and watch them grow into entirely new people. Therefore, it is my desire to continue working as an English teacher in Japan. I want not only to continue to help in the development of students regarding English and cultural education, but I wish to expand upon my own skills as a teacher so as to create even better learning environments for Japanese students.

undefinedWhen I was a child my father introduced my into a lot of music. Bands such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush, Earth Wind and Fire, and so on. One thing that really caught my ear the most was the sound of the bass guitar. I was obsessed with the sound. Every time I ever listened to any song, I always focused on the bass. But being young at that time I wasn't able to have my own bass guitar. When I turned twenty years old I bought my first bass guitar. I couldn't put it down. I spent hours everyday in my free time trying to learn and practice other bands songs until my fingers were blistered and bleeding. Particularly, I practiced a lot of songs from the band called The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. So I started listening to a lot of different music, artists, songs, and studied different play styles in order to improve my technique. Gradually, I become much better over the last ten years. I have even played a few cover songs at some live shows. But the thing that really shocks me the most is that before I got into playing the bass, I was afraid of the idea of learning an instrument because I thought it might be too much for me to handle. But after seeing that I can play a lot of songs from many artists and mimic their techniques, it helped me build a lot of confidence in myself. The same could be said about me learning another language. So I truly learned doing something constantly and doing it over and over and being persistent about it, you truly persevere and find success. This concept has applied to every aspect of my life from playing bass, learning another language, and even teaching. The bass guitar was the first time in my life where I learned that I can do something that seems impossible and become proficient at it to some extent. In this way, playing the bass guitar is more than just a hobby to me. It was a gateway to learning how to tap into my potential.
