Additional Information

  • I attended a TOK workshop (Category 2, Japanese) between 27 and 29 November, 2020. This was organised by IBO for those who have at least five years' experience teaching TOK. This was the first online TOK workshop in Japanese to share the new guidelines for teaching TOK from 2022. I participated based of my teaching, internship and university admission-related experiences. This provided me with an opportunity to learn how the IB is trying to make TOK more approachable and valuable for students, as well as an opportunity to network with TOK teachers.

Career objectives

Being involved in university admissions, I feel it is like "communication art" to find the best possible future path for every single student, which requires knowledge, interpersonal/organisational skills and endevour. I am now ready to work at a secondary school in university guidance and students’ admissions applications with my experience dealing with admissions and recruiting on university side succeeding to welcome promising students from all over the world. I have hands-on internship experience at an international school in Hong Kong where students placements are diverse academically and geographically. I believe I will be able to bring my university-side perspectives, knowledge and experience to support each student. In addition, I am hoping to learn more about TOK as I believe it would help students prepare for university application and higher education especially in essay writing and presentations as it would make it possible to understand various perspectives.
