Mai Okuno

I am a dedicated and adaptable student with a strong leadership background and a passion for cross-cultural engagement and filmmaking. As Vice President of my high school’s student council, I collaborated with peers to enhance student life and worked on social initiatives that contributed to society. Outside of school, I pursued my creative interests by independently producing a film that earned a screenplay award. After moving from Japan to the United States for university, I successfully adapted to a new academic and cultural environment, maintaining a 4.0 GPA while actively participating in student organizations. Through club activities, I introduced aspects of Japanese culture and organized cross-cultural exchange events. Additionally, as a Resident Assistant, I demonstrated leadership by supporting residents and fostering a positive living environment. My diverse experiences reflect my ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and engage meaningfully with my community.
