I have lived in the United States of America for 10 years through the age of 2 to 12. Throughout these years, I have been able to gain an understanding of the culture while creating great connections with people, including school friends, and teachers. I was also a very active cheerleader while balancing school life effectively. When coming back to Japan in middle school, although it was a very different environment, I was able to adapt and create a belonging for myself. I went to a Japanese language school in the US every saturday to maintain my Japanese so I was able to communicate with my fellow classmates in my new middle school. However, there were times I still struggled, so I studied hard with the help of family and friends and now I am bilingual. I continued cheerleading in high school, and surpassed many goals such as winning medals with the team. Along with teamwork in cheerleading, there are other aspects of teamwork that stood out, which is the business competition my friends and I entered called the Global Enterprise Challenge. Here, we were able to place first worldwide when thinking of several business plans to making the world a better place. This was done while balancing school work, and cheerleading, and left very good results in all fields. Now as a university student at Sophia University, I am trying my best at becoming the best version of myself, and continue growing by stepping out of my comfort zone to aim for more challenges and success.
