Work History

Data Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer

ROUTE06, Inc.
10.2023 - Current

Role & Technologies: Spearheaded the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiative using Terraform for GitHub Enterprise Cloud. Designed Terraform modules and implemented CI/CD pipelines.

Achievements: Designed a Terraform module to centralize employee information, such as names and team affiliations. This strategic approach reduced the risk of authorization errors during employee onboarding and offboarding processes, enhancing security and operational efficiency.

Role & Technologies

Designed and implemented:

  • ETL batch processing
  • cross-account data integration
  • query- and data- test for datamarts

Achievements

  • Optimized the data processing architecture for scalability and cost-effectiveness by selecting serverless- or low-code- solutions
  • Experienced the development of the whole architecture from infrastructure and data pipeline
  • Designed query tests and data tests for ETL processes, significantly minimizing the risk of modeling errors and potential security incidents

Role & Technologies: Initiated and managed the construction of a batch system for provisioning tenant infrastructure in a SaaS environment, utilizing both Terraform and AWS APIs for dynamic resource management.

Achievements and Insights: The provisioning batch was implemented using the AWS API, not Terraform. This project taught us the importance of determining "what should be state-managed."

Backend Developer, Site Reliability Engineer

Fixpoint, Inc.
02.2021 - 09.2022

Role & Technologies: Engaged in the development and maintenance of a medium-scale web application for a SaaS platform

Achievements: I developed foundational skills in architectural design and process methodologies that continue to influence my approach to software development.

Role & Technologies: Initiated the deployment of a monitoring environment for a cloud-based SaaS application.

Achievements and Decisions: I collaborated with the development team to define monitoring requirements. After evaluating both SaaS monitoring services and on-premise solutions, we opted for Datadog due to its balance of cost, operational efficiency, and stability. We deployed custom agents in a serverless architecture to optimize monitoring across production, staging, and development environments. We utilized Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, aiming to reduce long-term operational costs and ensure scalability.
